2021 Impact Report

WE’RE OFFICIAL!

This year we became a 501(c)3 nonprofit, and launched our very first fundraising campaign.

Read below to see some impact highlights of 2021... 


February…

We celebrated our 2-year anniversary and received our very first donation (thank you Kelly Catenacci!) After two years of supporting thousands of survivors in our Facebook support group, we are ecstatic to be able to further our impact with donations.

May…

We gained our official 501(c)3 nonprofit status in May after submitting our application in November 2020.

August…

We received 2 Purple Ribbon Awards from DomesticShelters.org - Outstanding Community Education and Outstanding National Nonprofit.

September…

We were selected for the Facebook Community Accelerator Program out of 14,000+ applicants! This program is 8 months long and includes a $50,000 grant.

Our Self Defense Class in partnership with Classic Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu in Lynden, WA as part of our “Help Get Us Up & Running” Campaign - October 16, 2021

In addition to the above, this year we also…

  • Provided 74 members with financial assistance over the holidays

  • Helped over 152 survivors escape abuse

  • Educated 102 people about abuse through our abuse quiz

  • Grew our support group by 1,521 members.

  • Hired a bookkeeper

  • Established nonprofit insurance

  • Surpassed our very first fundraising campaign

  • Facilitated sexual harassment training & background checks of all volunteers

  • Raised enough funds to hire our first paid staff

  • Developed a variety of procedures, protocols, and handbooks,

  • Grew our monthly donor base by 29%

We are SO looking forward towards what’s in store for SYTT in 2022!
